Public Works & Paintings
Sharifah Marsden works reflect her early training in the Woodland style and often tell the story of women, children and voices from the margins. Her artistic vision is grounded in the values of healing, visibility, and intergenerational connection.
“I believe it's essential to include images of Indigenous people, women, and children in public art and our modern landscapes to create inclusion and uplift one another.”
About The Journey
My murals are a collaborative journey between the community, the scenery surrounding and my Anishinaabe and Woodland Style. On my first site visit I will note the landscape, the vegetation, skyline and wildlife. I will ask you to share the story of how the mural came to be requested and when appropriate, include local emerging artists in the application as my teachings are to share what has been given to me by my mother, my elders and my ancestors.
